Northern Friends Peace Board

Quakers from throughout the North of Britain, meet and work together in the active promotion of peace in all its height and breadth. The Board includes representatives from all Northern Area Meeting with some co-opted members. They organise events, publish resources, support and speak out on peace concerns and encourge peace action and witness. Current priorities include building peace in diverse Britain; supporting young people as peacemakers; promoting sustainable security. SLATE Feel Good Furniture Shop

Faith Lodge

St. Georges Crypt Charity runs Faith Lodge. This is a hostel in the City of Leeds that provides accommodation for otherwise homeless men. They aim to provide a safe home free from drugs and alcohol where people can move on to the next stage of their lives. Their NVQ course in horticulture has led them to develop their own local allotment and team up with local businesses to keep their garden areas tidy. The Beehive, Chapel Allerton

The Beehive Shop is a small volunteer-run business whose aim is to sell lots of Fair Trade products to the local community and provide information on fair trade and related issues. It is run on a not-for-profit basis. They can provide customised packs for stalls on a Sale or Return basis for coffee mornings, fairs, church or school events. This means you can have a fair trade stall without having to pay for goods upfront!
